[Changjiang]

I just finished a term and it's a bit of a shambles. I ended up there as a last resort and would advise against anyone else working there.

The management is disorganised even by Chinese standards, the living conditions are sub-standard, students are randomly placed in classes and the management has bizarre ideas about how teachers should conduct classes. (We actually had a meeting where the boss told us that we were going to try a new paradigm where we wouldn't teach, but "create an English learning environment..." then he grilled us for an hour on how we might do that. We all took turns saying "No clue, dunno, can't help you..." at which point it died a death. But more stupid ideas were in the works.)

More worrying, the school fronts for religious activities and employs missionaries in unpaid positions. The missionaries are sub-contracted out to local colleges which the school charges at regular rates.
