I work as a summer school teacher in Egypt, teaching kids of about 6-8 years old. I'm hoping to create links with students of similar ages in another country as email penpals. I would also like to initiate a project, in which students from each country concentrate on the other country.
Anywhere in the world would be good, but preferably not native speakers, as the level of my kids is not too high!!!

I encourage my college students here in China to use the internet to practice English and learn more about the world. Surprisingly few are really interested.

Some of the EFL teaching/learning websites offer ways for students to hook up through email or chat.

Two examples are http://penpals.englishclub.com/ and http://www.eslpartyland.com/e-mail/stemailresults.htm .

I'm not sure that's what you're looking for, though. I'd feel far more comfortable matching a class with a class and having some measure of supervision with young kids as well as some communication with their teacher.

Perhaps you could put together a simple web page introducing your class and then write to international schools in countries of your choice.
