Hey, I wanna move again. I teach kids' lessons. Anyone know of a school hiring instructors right now? My old job paid 5,000 yen per hour so I'm hoping to find more or less the same job elsewhere in Japan. Thanks. |

5,000yen per hour?
Thats pretty high pay, even by J Land standards...
...you sure you wanna move?
...becuz I can nearly guarantee you that you wont find that kind of pay elsewhere even off privates...unless you have some credentials I am not aware of.
Imagine an eight hour day off that...
...thats like 40,000yen a day...200,000yen a week...6,200,000yen a month...74,400,000yen a year.
...course thats in a perfect world...but ummm... still. |

Wow I like your math. In my world there are only 4 weeks in a month so that would be 800,000 yen a month and therefore 9,600,000 yen a year - still fantastic money though! I doubt the OP is teaching 8 children's classes a day, though. That would be a very tough schedule, sure to cause a breakdown from exhaustion. |

5000yen is rare nowadays? I don't work for less. My fee is 6500yen and have no problems filling a schedule. |

Thank you for such brilliance.
Step back and look at how many other foreigners teaching in Japan make 5,000yen plus, an hour.
JET? NOVA? ECC? JAMES? KTC?
I believe privates on average go for what? ...2,000yen - 3,500yen an hour?
So thank you once more. |

It depends where you live. I get between 5-10,000 yen/hr depending upon location and how much I want to teach. |

Thanks for all the advice and debates but I've found the job I want...in a different country. Yay, just what I wanted, something different. Lol, I don't think it pays quite what I was looking for but I abesolutely love the school. |
