|

I was just wondering if anyone knows if Peppy Kids Club has a school anywhere in Shikoku? I am very interested in working with the school, but want to find some locations I am interested in going to. I understand the pro's and con's about this company and am just interested in locations of the schools. Their web site does not contain any information about these locations, other than the training school. Thanks all.. |

I know there is one in Yashima, on the outskirts of Takamatsu city in Kagawa-ken. It is about a 10 minute walk from my house. |

Yes I do. It is quiet and quite rural, but seems more like the "real Japan". It is also a good place to learn Japanese as few people speak English there.
Takamatsu city has about 300,000 people and has everything you need, not everything you may want though. If you want to live somewhere with an exciting nightlife, than look elsewhere. |

Don't worry, I am not coming to Japan to experience the nightlife..I can just stay in Canada to do that!
It sounds perfect!!! Exactly what I am looking for. I just hope they will have an opening around Jan. or Feb. since that is when I am ready to go. Should I take a Japanese course before I leave? Thanks for your help.... |

No you won't need to speak Japanese for your your job, for your day to day life it would be a good idea though.
I don't know if Peppy's would guarantee you a location. I'm pretty sure they stick you wherever they need a teacher. |

They give you the opportunity to list some prefectures in order of preference and ask if you want rural, semi-urban or urban placement. They also ask if you'll decline the offer if you don't get one of your preferences. I stated a preference for the south, urban or semi urban because I don't think I could handle a lot of the winter I've heard about in the North.
I'm still surprised when I read that Kyushu still sees some snow even though it's all the way down there. So long as they don't send me to Okinawa, I think I'll be happy enough and can adjust to anything. The more I learn, the more I like the idea of Kyushu so I'm not sure if I shouldn't reiterate a Kyushu placement in particular. I'll be going in November so there's still time before they tell me where I'm going. |

From talking to people who have lived in Takamatsu a long time, it has been about 20 years since there was snow of any significant amount. I haven't even seen a dusting in the 2 years I've been here. |
