I am looking for a place that will rent a decent one bedroom or studio for a month or so for around 200 dollars, NOT in Pham Ngu Lao, preferably in District 3 or Dong Khoi, but I am open to other central locations. Any tips? I read a post here that said there were a large number of such places near the Somerset, but I walked around the area for a half an hour and found nothing of the kind. I just want something relatively quiet and restrained (compared to Bui Vien Street and Pham Ngu Lao in general), with a lower proportion of foreigners, or, anyway, of drunken foreigners. |

Check the 17 and 18 blocks of Nguyen Thi Minh Khai (close to Sommerset) for quiet, low cost places. |

I went down there the other night, having seen this area referred to in another post; but I couldn't find anything. Perhaps I don't know what to look for. I know I was in that area because I found the Somerset. Do you have any exact addresses by chance? I'll try it again. It's a nice area...certainly *looks* expensive however. |
