There's an interesting job post for Lingua in Częstochowa. Does anyone know anything about that school? |

Hi there..
I don't know very much about Lingua, but I did know a couple of Americans who worked there about 2 years ago. They were very satisfied with their jobs and the school. But this is about all I know.
I also know about a different school called Profi-Lingua which is where I am working right now. I know that they also have a job available where I am. This school is also pretty good.
Anyway, sorry I couldn't be of more help. |

Lingua is a good school with good people. Just be careful, they're a bit unorganized.
I was slated to work there, but they couldn't tell me about my prospects of employment until November--well into my already-full academic year.
Czestochowa is a peaceful town that smells of factories. There's the Jasna Gora monastery, which is quite inspiring in winter.
Hope this helps. |

I know this is outdated, and it won't help the 2003 job seeker, but I just have to say that I worked at Lingua for a year, and it was probably the best year of my life (corny-sounding, but true). Your experience is half what you take into it, but the school really helps. Lingua's administrators were perhaps a little flighty, but very nice and good to work with. The DOS was helpful without interfering too much. The hours were good. The pay was enough to live and travel on. The accomodations were nice. The students were dedicated and creative on the whole. Czestochowa's not the world's most beautiful town, but it has it's nice parts, Jasna Gora, the longest straight tree-lined street in Poland, and a nice feeling. There weren't a lot of tourists, which I think is a plus. Whenever I was out and about and heard English, I turned around and it was someone I knew.
Well. Hope that helps any future interested parties.
PS. I think I'm one of the American teachers mentioned in the above posting |
