Just arrived in Wroclaw and looking for work (impressive town from what Ive seen so far). I have some privates set up through my girlfriend but would also like to find steady hours in a school. Can anyone advise if its generally acceptable to pop into the schools 'on spec' with CV in hand or better with a more formal approach through mail/email?

Do both.
I used to spend my time going from school to school asking to talk to the director and then I'd send out my resume to all the schools in the area every Sunday night so that they'd see it first thing Monday morning.
And eventually I caught a fish. |

I agree both ways are fine but whatever you do make sure you meet them face to face before starting (in fact I'd be suspicious now of any school offering a job without some kind of interview). |
