My wife and I are coming to Thailand next week. I'm coming with a fist full of Chinese "People's Money" (Yuan/RMB). Should I get it changed into US$/Euro first, which means about two hours worth of red tape at my local Bank of China, followed by another hour of telling them how to do their job. Can I get a decent exchange rate of RMB into Baht? If so, should I use banks or are the Money changer, assuming there is such an animal in Thailand, reputable enough? and where?

Depends where you are arriving. UK pounds seem better now.

There is a great place in BKK near MBK which changes any old crap money at good rates. If you are going to BKK and are interested, I'll post some specifics.

Actually, I forgot its name!

It's on Phayathai Road opposite the huge MBK centre, parallel to Soi Kasemsan where the guest houses and stuff are, BTS Siam Square or National Stadium.

They've changed currencies for me which others wouldn't.
