I have been hired at a Canadian school in Nanjing. The school is quite new and has been going through some growing pains. They have done a big hiring spree since all but two of last year's teacher's have quit. I think this may be quite understandable is it not- just in general having a high turnover in China?
The school is called Greenwood academy- or Grand Canadian Academy. It is owned by a politician here in Richmond, BC, who will have to pull out soon since he was elected (I believe that is how it works). Anyways I hear there were some communication problems with certain issues and some teachers just got fed up and left. I have alot of questions which are hard to get answered since there are really no teachers to ask since they seem to be away on holidays so I will have to ask the principal of the school. Some are more on a personal level so I feel nervous to reveal some of my insecurities / or fears of coming there/ to a future boss.
The school has not been accreditted with BC , Canada but soon shall be (I guess depending on how it goes at the beginning this year). I just want to chat with someone who knows more about working there if you can. |
