Just in case anybody cares. I heard that the police will be clamping down on BBQs by the river in Kyoto. As from July 1st people will be fined for having a BBQ. Big shame as i've had some wonderful nights doing that. It's because of all the rubbish left in bags that the foxes and cats get to. They should just encourage people to take their litter home like they do in England.

Yeah, well... That's the story everywhere, for all things. It's always a few idiots who ruin it for everyone. But having said that, when it comes to BBQs, I don't want to make a stereotypical statement here, but it seems to be more than just a few people causing the problem. Everywhere I go where there's BBQs, people are DISGUSTING PIGS when it comes to leaving trash behind. And honestly, I just don't remember this being such a problem back home. Really I don't. Maybe things have changed there too, but from my recollection people generally tended to pick up after themselves a little more.

Go to ANY beach in Japan and it will be covered by peoples' trash. Worse yet, you can see people actively littering without a care in the world. What do you think they'll tell me if I were to go over and kindly ask them to pick up the trash that I just saw them chuck to the ground? Yeah. Exactly.
