ok, I have a quick query about the Oxford school in wloclawek: they've offered me a job starting in about a week which involves some quick thinking on my part. they're offering 850 zl a month, my rent payed and 18 zl per lesson. while they've spoken about 100/120 lessons per month, this doesn't appear to be a guarantee, and I'm not sure these are really competitive rates. Could anyone with any experience tell me if I'm being too picky or is this just not a great idea?
thanks. |

Instead of going there just stay home and repeatedly slam your head in the refridgerator door. It'll be a lot more fun than going to that school and getting seriously ripped off.
This 'job' is the most disgraceful offer that I have heard of in all my ten years in Poland. When I arrived in Poland I was working about 22 classes a week and being paid 900 PLN (well it was 9 million then but that was the old zloty). I was working in a town much smaller and a lot poorer than Wroclawek. To offer less than that after ten years of inflation is shameful. 850PLN is the legal minimum wage in Poland! Even with free accommodation you wouldn't be able to survive. My electricity bill is 75 PLN a month and the heating about the same. You won't even be able to call home, calls to the USA are 4 PLN a minute. For the school to describe their offer as an "excellent salary" is nothing short of fraud. |
