Is it common for people to be just class teachers, or do you tend to have more varied assignments??? I don't even teach at a school for kids right now, and I don't think I could cope with the same group of kids day in, day out!!!
Is this common?? I don't want to teach aduts all my life, but I'm not sure I just want to see the same kids all the time... Is there any in-between here?? |

Hey Sckhmet,
Were you just asking about Egypt or teaching in general?
But, I know what you mean. It is great to look at the same faces if they are good students, but a whole semester with a batch of monsters would certainly be a drag. I have always taught university level - academic prep - and you tend to have 3 or 4 groups each semester - often different skills and/or different levels. It is less boring, but more preparation. I used to prefer a situation where I was teaching two different courses with four groups, so basically only two preps.
I couldn't imagine teaching elementary level where you have the same kids all day for the whole academic year. Which is why I avoided getting a degree in Elementary education.
