Anyone heard of the Eurolink Diploma(TM)TESOL course? If so, is it any good?

I took the Eurolink Diploma course in 1997 so I'm afraid that I only have vague memories of the course. Also please keep in mind that the course might have changed since then. What I do remember is having to spend several hours transcribing written English into phonetic script and then being criticized for transcribing with a northern British accent. Also some of the questions on the course work assignments were not written in clear, precise English Embarassed This course provides useful revision material for the CELTA course but is not recognized internationally - hence my return to the UK next month to do the Cambridge DELTA course. Most schools wishing to hire teachers with a diploma ask specificaly for the RSA/Cambridge Diploma.

Eurolink has certificates and diplomas accredited by or jointly issued by the College of Teachers as do several other orgainizations. The British Coucil will confirm that College of Teachers degrees are as legitimate as Cambridge and Trinity certificates in the UK. You can cut and paste information from the British Council websites to verify that College of Teachers is legitimate. A reasonable employer will accept this.

As to value of their courses I cannot speak. As far as I can determine all TESOL programs [the correct spelling, not the silly spelling used by Brits] share the vices of all programs in the field called "education", they never give any valid scientific reasons for preferring one method to another.

To tell the truth, I honestly thought Eurolink was an intercontinential low cost bus service...
