I will be going to saigon probably sometime this month, later on in the month, not 100% sure yet.
I was very interested in going there to teach english but it looks like no one is willing to hire me due to my lack of a degree.

never the I will be there for 6 week or so to just visit, I plan on staying in HCMC most of the time but I would like to go to Da nang as well. I already have a place to stay in Saigon, but i'm writing to asking if anyone would like to meet up? I would like to hear your experiences there so far.. cheers.

I suspect you will be able to find work here, with or without a degree. There are many schools here, and not that many foreigners, esp. this time of year. Let me know when you get here and maybe we can meet.

Yeah I'll meet up. I'll be landing on the 13th, although there is a slim chance that I'm going to move the flight up four days.

I'll send a PM closer to the time.

Hello Kinjo

Don't worry there are many places to see in Vietnam. I just came back from Ho Chi Minh City three week ago.

I plan on taking a road trip from SGN to Da nang or Hue, stopping at some of the towns in between. it should be an interesting ride. I'm hoping everything works out.

what did u do there for 3 weeks? i tend to get soo bored when i'm there with my parents.

Hi Kinjo,

I was there for nine days only. I came back to Korea three weeks ago to finish my current contract.
During that nine days I was very busy inspecting the contruction of the new house so I did not feel like doing any job hunting at all. I saw three new schools just open up, no foreigners yet. Names of the schools? Sorry don't remember. When I go back again at the end of this year then I will start looking for a job, my sister knows a lady (local) teaching English at Hoi viet my school may be she can connect me with someone there. I plan to to get a job there first to build reputation and then open a school on the second and the third floor of my house.
Like I told you there are many historical places to visit if you are not on a budget.

In Thủ Đức - (4 km from Bnh Triệu St.) the best way go get there is to pick up the free shuttle at Bến Thnh Market.

Plenty.

The former.

The only place in town that shoes English language movies.

It is the worst zoo you are likely to see. It might just be interesting for a comparison.
Edited by Mr. Kalgukshi 08-27-04 A drinking club with a running problem - check out their site.

I'll give you 3 guesses, and the first two don't count.

Your choice. The chances of being disturbed by a fish pulling on your line are pretty slim though.

hehhe so just soccer? I remember my dad once told me years ago when the animosity was still there between north and south VN.
he said...

"Soccer games are always more full when a north team plays a south team. there are always a lot more fights then."

maybe i'll go see one for fun.

That water park sounds scary. I was told that one needs to walk around with a stick to fend off gay guys trying to get fresh. I'm too homophobic to deal with stuff like that.
