Look guys, I've searched everywhere for this answer, couldn't find it.
Simply, will I get hassled at the airport(s) with my 30-day single entry tourist visa and roundtrip ticket stating that i'll return back home 10 months later? Should I play dumb with the officials? State i'm on the lookout for "job opportunities" or what? I know all about legally entering with a working one, but short on time atm and will definitely get it changed as soon as i enter Shanghai. |

Hi
I'm preparing to head over to China in a months time and am booking most of my stuff through a travel agency. I'm heading in on a tourist visa and was wondering the same thing, whether or not it had to look like I was going to leave in 30 days. When I asked the agent she wasn't sure and gave some travel info line a call. I'm not sure what the official line is, but I'm getting the ticket so it looks like i'll be coming back after 30 days, and I'll change it when I'm over there...
Don't know if that's necessary, but it's probably for the best.

I have never had my ticket checked.
Others may have but I doubt it.
Happy travels and teaching.

Ditto.
It's now commonplace for people to come in on an L visa, and then get their Z sorted out. I've never been asked to show a ticket back out, which is good because I never had one. |

| COmpletely irrelevant! You can't become a burden on Chinese society - they would much rather have you starve to death! |
