Does anyone with ADHD or any other ailment needing a "Controlled Substance" for medication have experience obtaining that medication overseas or any knowledge whatsoever Also, is there a stigma attached to having ADHD and requiring such medicine which may disqualify one for overseas positions Thanks |

First off, in my own experience I have found that in the countries in Asia in which I have lived and worked that securing medicines was easier and a whole lot cheaper than in the USA. In Thailand, for example, anything and everything is available over the counter and everything seems to be extremely cheap.
As for your second concern, well, it's nobody's business but your own. If you had an annoying rash in a private place would you share that information with your employers at the job interview? Of course not. If medicine for ADHD is available and it allows you to function to your satisfaction, why would you want to advertise it? Unless you want to be a spokesperson for ADHD or something.
All the best. |

Thank you for the info. Positions in the Middle East, esp. Saudi Arabi, usually require in the States a complete physical and medical record, i.e. including "what medications are you currently taking?", which your MD theoretically must answer honestly. This is where the bias could come in even if one hadn't mentioned ADHD before.
Does anyone know the situation in Japan and/or China? |
