Im an ex EBC TEFL and all I can tell you is I was very happy with them, take it for whats it worth, theyre really not like the rest, for one thing they dont run their program like a business, its like a school, school and the teachers are superb. They are so willing to help you to feel confident about teaching. If youre like me I needed that boost before I went out there to teach. Ive been here for 17 months now (and still loving Madrid!) and I have no problems putting in a good word for the guys at EBC. Job placement help? If youre like me and many of their graduates youll be interviewing straight away, and thats EU or non-EU. Ok, you guessed it right, Im non EU, but did it make a difference? Not in my experience. I was working the week after I finished the course. I have some private clients now but I still do classes for schools I met through EBC. Happy travels.

I did the EBC course over 18 months ago. I'm back stateside now but it was a good course. I went over without any teaching experience and they trained me and helped me get working within about a week of finishing.
It's a tough course, lives up to the word "intensive", but as long as you get the work done you'll be fine.
The thing that I thought set them apart from the rest was the job help. I thought they'd probably hyped it up a bit on the web, but - they hadnt. My resume was out the last day of the course, I got called for 2 interviews that same afternoon and I had started teaching my first couple of slots by the end of the following week. They explained that they don't "guarantee" jobs because of the old "there's no such thing as a sure thing" saying. But unless you're a total dork, you'll be working within a week or so after finishing. |

Its a good school and you really learn how to teach, it can be intensive and you have to work but you know what ? at the end of the day it was worth it. I chose Madrid because I knew it was a great city for young people, fiestas, parties, nightlife but I also wanted to be trained well because I knew that if I wanted to teach English for an extended period of time I needed a good school to get me on the right track. I found that in EBC because with them you came out feeling confident that you could teach.
