Has anyone else had trouble getting CCTV 9 in the last few days? Here in Harbin, it doesn't seem to be available anymore.

Um, Guys? Almost 50 people have viewed my original posting by now, yet no one has responded...

Of course, I realise that there is no obligation for anyone to answer a question posted on this board. However, if you're interested enough in the subject to read about it, could you please take 30 seconds to answer yes or no are you still able to watch CCTV9 in your part of the country or internationally?

I just find it interesting that it went off the air here in Harbin around the time that it started broadcasting bilingual press conferences about SARS in which foreign journalists were noticably much more critical of the government's actions than their Chinese counterparts. Maybe I'm just being a conspiracy theorist, but I wonder if there's a connection...

Thanks.

JM

Zhengzhou lost CCTV - 9 about three weeks ago. I haven't heard any explanation why. Most Chinese haven't noticed.

It's working fine in Xiamen.

Regarding the news on SARS. Please remember they only report the good news. CCTV-9 reports don't really give a very accurate picture of what's happening.

As someone said, it has been gone from Zhengzhou, the capital of Henan, for weeks. All the small cities around Zhengzhou have it, though. Supposedly the local cable company has to get new equipment??? That was the offered reason. Beijing Shanghai also have it. I want my Center Stage, Around China and documentaries
