Oh wait, don't bother, we can all recognise you from your writing style and the fact that you do nothing but b1tch at each other and us.

Am I the only one who thinks this board has been completely taken over?

Nice new tricks by the way, registering a bunch of new names when you know you're going to be banned and then resurrecting them as each one is banned in turn. Who are you trying to fool? Christ, 11 posts in one day 12 days after registering with nothing in between. Confused

Dave, Mr. Sperling, Sir, is there nothing permanent you can do? How about a Troll Forum where they can go and play with each other (or, more likely, themselves).

It's a sad fact that one or two pathetic idiots can impinge so much on the lives and enjoyment of others.

Thank you Moderators, feel free to delete this rant now, it's nothing to do with teaching. Fair's fair after all.... Wink

Maybe they could institute a kind of "karma" system, as they do at Slashdot. A person's credibility is rated, including factors such as time since registering, or number of trollish responses. So every poster has their rating glaring right at the world next to their words. See the Slashdot FAQ under Karm for more info: http://slashdot.org/faq/com-mod.shtml#cm700

I agree, it's funny to see someone with under 5 posts already bashing others like they've known them for years. I used to find so many interesting things to read here, but lately it's been as mentally stimulating as a Brittainy Spears video, minus the T & A.

QUOTE: DENISE this place has gotten nasty

Yes.

It's also gotten boring, filled with personal invective I have no interest in.

It used to be worth the time to log in.

I think the problem goes beyond a few trolls throwing around personal insults. A number of threads recently have dealth with women/men, Asian women/western women, America/Americans, etc. While they could turn into meaningful discussions with a variety of different viewpoints presented and debated, they have, probably without exception (I haven't read all of them), turned nasty. Even normally mild-mannered posters--myself included Embarassed --have gotten caught up in the meanness. It's all really pointless. Not every thread on here (in my opinion, at least) needs to be about teaching, since there is more to the EFL lifestyle than what goes on in the classroom, so these topics are valid. Too bad they can't stay civil.

Both hands please.
It conjures up the writing with elbows scenario but a step along the line. All trolls will now be obliged to post while holding their hands up

There was a patch (about 6 months ago maybe) where everything was going great. There was a nice blend of teaching/non teaching discussions - everyone was friendly and civil and I used to actively think about what I'd post at Dave's while I was at work.

I'm getting sick and fucking tired of this America bullshit, I really am.

Well said Leeroy. Shouldn't all the American threads be posted on the North American Forum?
