I need help from you experienced people out there. I have been offered a job in the Hebei provice at a vacational college. This is the offer: 5600 RMB for 22 hours per week. I would have a 2 story apartment of my owm on campus with a computer and internet access as well as a 100RMB per month telephone allowance. I will also have round trip travel expenses paid and the employment visa paid for. There is a mention of a 4400RMB travel allowance, but I don't know if this refers to the travel expenses to get there or travel within China. I also get free mandarin lessons, cooking classes, and Tai Chi classes.
Does this sound fair to you ?
PLEASE ADVISE

This does not sound like too bad of an offer. You may want to wait for a responce from some of the experts on this page. The pay does not seem bad and the offer is good. How long has this school been around??? As well as have you talked to any of the teachers there. That is all I can think of to ask, but the offer seems alright if the school is not a cowboy outfit.

This certainly is a good offer.
The travel allowance is for holiday travelling, i.e. spring festival or summer recess, and at 4400 it is rather generous (normally, it is 2200 a month).
You need to clarify the following:
- DO they pay your airfare (they must as legal employers!);
- can they get you a work visa?
And, you need to learn spelling correctly! I suppose you were in a holiday mood - but they are a vocational college, not specialising in holiday-making! |
