I have a Thai girlfriend in Phuket who wants to visit me in South Korea. The problem is that she has never had a passport. How can she obtain one?

Tell her to call the Consular services! Do you want the number?

I'm not being rude or anything mate, but don't you know how to use Google? It's pretty simple you type in key words and then hit search!

I'll help you 'cos you're from Oxford and I'm a Reading boy so us Southern fairies have to stick together!

Prettty sure this is the place (at least part of the application procedure is done here if not all, they should be able to advise you accordingly). Check it:

The Legalisation and Naturalisation Division, Department of Consular Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

123
Chaeng Wattana Road, Laksi District,
Bangkok 11120
Tel. 575 1056 59, 981 7171
(08.30 11.30 and 13.00 15.30)

I hope this helps?

Why doesn't she visit one of the major (Thai run) travel agencies in Phuket and see what they have to say? Surely, if nothing else, they will be able to point her in the right direction. From what I've been told, some of them can pretty much handle the entire thing short of actually issuing the passport. It's worth a shot.

Here you go mate, everything you needed to know about Thai passports (but were afraid to ask!): http://www.mfa.go.th/web/11.php

No need to thank me (yeah right!).
