TAFErs, are you happy in your current positions? It's awefully quiet out there, especially given the static coming from QAC.

I can only assume it must be a good place to work, as those contented tend not to contribute to these forums.

Am I right?

If you work for TAFE then you you will be working most likely on the Gulag (with QAC subcontractors) In general the Tafe package is better then QAC. Look on the job information journal at the most recent posting from Paul. It is a fair account of working there.

Actually the real winners in pay are the tafe technical instructors. They have better pay and more job security due to greater demand. They'll get at least QR 3000 more per month.

It's a high stress existence dealing with the sponsor company for tafe instructors in Doha. They have few communication or service skills. They will send you up the wall if you have many dealings with them.

The reason nobody hears a whisper from TAFE people on EFL websites, such as Dave's, is basically because the ones sent to Qatar are mostly novices/first timers in EFL.
The majority of them seemed to be worn out/retired Primary/Secondary school teachers from the Australian state school system.

They have about as much know how/experience of EFL as Henry,my half blind Bloodhound.

For QP to pay them 2000qr a month more than thoroughly experienced QAC staff is an outrage and an affront to humanity.

I shall be writing to George Bush about this.....hopefully he can launch a full scale invasion before the US election, righting the wrongs and providing freedom for the innocent QAC people from the tyranny of the despotic and dangerous QP pay structure supreme council.

The real question is why don't TAFE and QAC instructors work together to improve their lot?

The TAFE and QAC contracts have different conditions. TAFE doesn't have any provision for sick leave. QAC have leave but are paid less.
