I have 5 years experience teaching ESL in Canada. I would like to travel and teach at the same time. I know that Japan and Korea offer short-term contracts (approx. 1 month) for teachers during their peak seasons. Do schools in Egypt hire teachers during peak months for short-term contracts? (3-5 weeks). Thanks.

I'm currently doing "sessions" for the Arab Academy in Alexandria. Each session is 6 weeks long, and there is no obligation to do more than one. I'm pretty sure the same kind of thing happens at Amideast, but I can't guarantee that!!!! I'm afraid I don't know anything about Cairo though!!!!

AMIDEAST works with 5 week contracts. Sessions are 5 weeks, with a week off in between. There is a branch of AMIDEAST both in Alexandria and Cairo. You can go to the website-- www.amideast.org
