Hi
I have been offered work through Yakup, in the form of a detailed contract.
Can anybody provide feedback on previous experiences with this group.
I am seeking a balanced opinion, if one exists.
All replies welcomed and appreciated.
Cheers

I have NO personal experience with Yakup, but I do have an opinion:
SInce it is only an agent I would refrain from signing with them!
Here my thoughts:
Agents in China assume NO responsability for hirees. They pass you on to a taker who may or may not have the relevant permits to employ a foreign national (and not having been approved by the PSB forces some of them to asking others to seek teachers abroad for them).
Once you have been accepted by the taker (which is by no means assured), the agent washes his hands of any guilt if anything should go wrong.
They take a huge commission (it is a minimum 10'000, and can exceed 40'000 RMB per transaction).
Yakup has been in the scene for about two years now. There has been little bad news from them so far (you had better check out the JOB INFORMATION FORUM and scroll down to around 2002 entries). They used to be a trading company.

As usual Roger gives sane advice. And, would you really want to get involved with a company that names itself after something you do after too many baijiu? Twisted Evil

Stay away from recruiters in general. I would put Yakup as one of the worst, but not the worst I have heard about. How far back in the archives can you search. I know around Beijing they do great (horrible) bait and switch. Sign with a school directly, e-mail the school directly, or stay away
