I am currently in Budapest and have been away from the USA for over a year. I am interested in visiting and or teaching in China. I went to the Chinese embassy here today and was informed that it only processes visas for Hungarian residents.
Can anyone tell me if this is standard for Chinese embassies. I certainly cannot get back to the US to process a visa. Does anyone know of an embassy near Budapest that could process a visa for a US resident??
Thanks |

Maybe being an U.S. citizen these days is a disadvantage, don't know.
My advice to you is to fly into Hong Kong or Macau and apply for a visa there.
No one has been turned away there.
You have a wideisas - multiple entry, single entry, one month or one year, many months, etc.
Americans pay double the fee other westerners pay (as far as I know). |

wise decision, mate.
Do a search on these forums for the best places to get a visa in HK as well as other information about accomodations. |
