I am a CBC with a BA degree from US (business related major) looking for an English teaching position in Taipei. I do speak fluent Mandarin (cant read though) and have zero experience in this field. Can someone tell me if its possible to get a job in a decent school? what kind of pay should I be expecting? I heard Bushiban/cram school are not interested in asian looking tutors. Pls share yr experiences/thoughts. Tks

But, yeah, there seems to be some discrimination here against Canadian/American born Asians.
I've talked to guys here working for $550 an hour that are American-Chinese.
Again, you'll have to look around, but $550 - $600 might be possible.
