I will be graduating next year with a BA in English, TESL certificate, and professional teaching certificate. What are the prospects of obtaining a position in Budapest? I can speak basic Hungarian and would be living with my cousin.

Thanks.

conversaation jobs can be gotten in budapest (hungarian is not necessary, sometimes its not even desirable) and government sponsored jobs include accommodation (though the rules of where you live might be terrible, so be careful). from what i gather your best bet is to go to the hungarian ministry for education website and make a few enquiries (dunno how much hungarian you have). the alternative is language schools, dunno how much demand there is for teachers among them, possibly not much, especially comparing with the state system which is crying out for people...though moreso outside of budapest. the advantage with thestate people is security of job, and zero tax.
