Can anyone tell me how I can find a job in Doha? I have been registered with several recruitment agencies for months but so far without any success. I am a German muslim female, educated in languages (English/Italian) and have many years of job experience as a personal assistant/executive secretary and translater. My resume can be viewed at

Any hints for successful job hunting there? Thank you so much!!!

Bahiya,

Recruitment agencies are notoriously unhelpful in the Gulf. I suspect that the only possible way for you to get a job in an office would be to actually go there. Most of this type of job is probably filled by spouses of people already there. I doubt that many companies import people as that is very expensive, and I don't think you will find the pay very high as you will be competing with professionals from the subcontinent, who normally work for less than Westerners.

One thought might be to research if any German companies have branches in Doha. (or companies that may have need of someone with German or Italian) You would probably also need fluent Arabic.
