Hi,
has someone ever worked for the Delter organization here in China or knows something about the working conditions, especially in Hangzhou? I might take a part-time teaching position there, so any piece of information is appreciated. Thanks a lot!

I've heard a few glowing reports of it and then several that make it appear quite shady. I'm really not sure what to think but it's not on my short list. |

Yes, I just started with them this week and they seem OK. They are a big school with 10-12 campuses across China so you are bound to have some great some bad reports.
Though I stated that I wanted to teach business only but they have me teaching english which I am not happy about.
Their management is quite good though with westerners on staff as well as pretty good resources.
Anyway you could do alot worse really. Hope that helps. |

i worked there for almost two years (shanghai and chengdu) and did not experience any problems or issues outside the parameters of what should be expected upon moving to a foreign country that is radically different from your own. the teachers and management were, in many cases, top notch and they always tried to accomodate my requests. the pay isnt the best in china, but there is very little pressure and working outside the company is completely acceptable (at least when i was there). in the end, i would consider working for them again. |

Gentlemen, gentlemen, you are disturbng my already tenuous grasp on reality. Are you talking about Delter-Telfort (Bing Liang & Co.)? The same outfit and individual whose sleazy treatment of teachers has been chronicled again and again in these pages?
Has Bing been visited by The Ghost of Christmas Yet to Come, and, overnight, changed his character and way of doing business? Or (even more unlikely) has another outfit emerged from the primordial slime and stolen his corporate name? |

You obviously don't have any grasp on reality in the slightest.
Maybe in your time at Delter-Telfort (if you ever actually worked for them) it wasn't the school that was at fault, maybe it was .............
Need I say any more?
If anyone has any serious questions about Delter, please feel free to PM me, and I will gladly give you an honest and objective opinion. |

Oh, well, another Bing apologist. Many have come, many have gone. |
