Ludwig, may I ask, are you a member of the so-called "human rights group"?
Is you real name Chris Hogg?
How is "fear" measured?
I don't suppose the British violated any "human rights" in Iraq or anywhere else in the world, do you? |

Actually, Chris Hogg is my ex-flatmate, and I would be very surprised if he is masquerading on this forum as Ludwig!
If so, well done sir! |

We do not need that twerp to tell us that it was illegal, we know it was. Nevertheless, I would agree it is a more important story. Most of what the US does is highly illegal under international law. Indeed, it is the only country in the world to have had a head of state that has been condemned by the International Court (Bush senior for his outlandish invasion of Panama). |

Could someone help me to understand how it is that the leaders who decided to illegally invade Iraq and cause the death of thousands of human beings can escape 'justice' and prosecution for war crimes ?
What is 'justice'?
Will Sadam Hussein be released since he hadn't any WMD?
Will he receive compensation for the murder of his sons?

Would it be more appropriate for you to direct your name-calling at certain other leaders?
Annan is a brave man who will probably be put 'right' by 'justice'. |

What would be incredibly surprising would be if the Chinese govt. DIDN'T try to influence the elections in Beijing. The tactics of the Beijing authorities in dealing with political issues has been quite visible for 55 years, and little has changed except they are a tiny bit more subtle than blowing away protestors and minorities these days (but they still like to bully them and lock them away, as with the 36 000 people arrested in Beijing prior to the recent party gathering showed (if you can believe the human rights group who reported it). ...OK, well they still kill the odd person (about 2000 a year, official figures on capital punishment - but they deserve it!). But other than that the CCP are really quite nice people. Just read China Daily, it tells you the truth about what a great bunch of blokes the CCP REALLY is, not what the corrupt, brainwashing, monolithic Western media says.
As for Bush and his boys (with a few token gals and blacks thrown in), at least we can write and speak about it openly. In China (mainland), you can't even do that. The Michael Moore's of China are all rotting away in prison, or at the bottom of shallow graves. |
