Hi all!
I'm heading to Barcelona at the end of September to take the CELTA course at International House. I'll arrive about a week early & don't know anyone in town, so I was just wondering if anyone had any tips for me (like a good place to stay). Is anyone posting here planning on making the move to Barcelona? If so, let me know, maybe we could get together for a drink or do some sightseeing.

Hey Lizb,
I just applied (slightly late... ) to the IH Barcelona course too, starting on October 6th, is that the one you're talking about? I'm in Alicante at the minute, thinking of heading to Barca on Mon/Tues...are you there already? And if so did you have any trouble finding a place to stay, or are you going through IH?
I only know one other person out there, so would be more than happy to go for a few drinks, esp as I get the impression there's not much chance for fun-having during the course??!
Hope it's all going well anyway,
See you soonish I think? |

Hey Coronita!
I'll be getting into town Wednesday afternoon. I'll PM you when I get there & we can figure something out. (Where are you staying for the few days before the course? I looked into hotels & they want $175/night!)
Talk to you soon,
Liz |

Hey again,
I'm heading to Barcelona tomorrow, should arrive about 7pmish, think I'm staying in a hostel - one of those long-term types - for a few nights while I sort myself out...I'm not sure if you're interested in that, it's 20 euros a night, opposite Placa Catalunya, sounds OK to me...if you want I'll pass you the address when you get here..?

Hey,
Im finishing my TESOL course tomorrow, then Im sticking around to find work. If you need any help Id be glad to show you around the city. Its such an amazing town, and youll need more than a month to visit everything you need to.
You can find hostels or budget hotels under 20 euro a night. It really isnt that hard finding a place. Right now my current roommate and myself are looking for a new roommate. Were getting kicked out in 2 days and dont have anywhere. But in this town you dont have to worry, theres always someone cool enough to help, and theres flats everywhere that are cheap. We found a beach front flat with ocean view, 3 bedroom, furnished, for only 1000 euro a month.
Well, if you get into town and needs some help just pm. Id be glad to show you what this city is all about; no work and all play
