I am curious to know if in Hanoi

1) there are decent opportunities to play tennis and

2) the Herald Tribune can be found

I guess the answers are affirmative as regards HCM. I am not a frivolous person, just want to keep up with the world and stay in good shape.

Thank you very much

I've only been there a couple of times, but I saw tennis courts aplenty.

It's one of the few that you can always find - although occassionally with some things blacked out.

Tennis I don't know, but the International Herald-Tribune is easily had. It's usually a day late, however. For what it's worth, I prefer to read the New York Times online, which can cost as little as 3000 or 4000 dong an hour, or about 25 cents U.S. The Herald-Tribune, as you know, is published by the Times and has the same articles but fewer of them, with a focus on international news. The Times online is uncensored.

There are some nice-looking courts on Van Bao just opposite the old UNIS campus. If you're on a moto-taxi, tell the driver, Kim Ma and Van Bao.

Lots of foreign papers here. Look in the hotels.

Thank you guys, very helpful! I will be safe, then, when I arrive after the Tet Hollidays. Yes, I realize herald Tribune is a "light" version of NYT (and Washington Post?), but its such a joy to read. Keep well.
