Well? My choice is Cihangır. It's fairly quiet. Good places for eating/drinking(Porte, Smyrna and Leila all on akarsu sok.) great views. Have you been up beşinci kat.( not the gay bar the restaraunt on the roof)
It's central and there is a 24 hour beer shop that does home deliveries!!!

All good ones. Beşinci Kat is good for when you feel like being sophisticated and doing some grown-up drinking.... very nice, almost elegant...
I also like Kylios and the area around there. It's nice to see nature and stuff. Not kickin' or anything, but there are several garden restaurants where they bring a lit mangal to your table, and you choose a pile of raw meat to cook yourself, plus mezes, rakı, etc.
Out near Bykekmece is nice for the nature-like thing. Farms, sheep, shepherds in Anatolia-style baggy pants. Also there are a few dog-training kennels where the future police and security dogs, plus a few kangals and the random border collie get to run around together with their tongues flopping out.
Dolmabahe tea garden. Tophane in winter.... |

I love to cycle and eat fish on Buyuk ada (one of the prince's islands). I like the vibe in Kadikoy and it is 5 minutes from my area of town. I love the coast walk from suadiye to bostanci. it's therapeutic. |

Well playmates, the best part of the place , if we believe half of what is written about the place in negative terms, is the bloody road out of it . |

Well my vote goes to Kadikoy. The old Euro side might be more rommantic, but running water, natural gas, power and car parking are things I can't live without. Try the SANAT Bar in kadif sok, to meet up with most of the local native speakers or if your into lots of music go to teachers bar in bar sok. As the Turks say you work on one side and live on the other. |

vre, take your bike out to the IT campus in Maslak. There are some excellent bike tracks through the forest and down towards the lake. |

Teachers Bar!!!! Dude, that place is great for drinking whisky and getting into fights with bikers late at night, the music is frankly shite. Go to Karga if you want music or go see the live bands in The Buddah bar a few pubs down.
For a quite one I prefer Son Gimi at the moment. |

Hell Baba, your right it is bit mean. I stop going after I got married. It use to be a cool place now less so from what l hear.
Still if your after a small and up market, rommantic place for a drink you can't go wrong with 'Baraka' in Fenerbai park. |
