Hello everyone
I need a little help trying to locate an Orphanage in Wuxi. I heard (over 12 months ago now) that there was an Orphanage there that would accept me visiting the children.
Does anyone live in Wuxi - who may be able to help me locate it?
Thanks in advance |

Rhonda I am in Wuxi and met a person who went to one and asked him if it would be possible to do some volunteer work . He told me they didn't want foreigners because it required the staff to do cleaning . I will try and talk with the person tomorrow at an English corner .
I am counting my days to get out of here. Wuxi is a new city in the sense that everything is newly constructed . For it's size there is very little culture. People come to Wuxi to make money then leave . I can not afford to live here because everywhere I go it is assumed that I am one of the rich foreigners and pay much more . Suzhou is 30 minutes away and a much nicer place to live and work .

Brian,
Any information you can give me would be greatly appreciated.
I have been wo Wuxi once, but that was only to catch the train to Beijing - in January this year.
I have been to Suzhou twice and I would really love to explore Suzhou more also.
In the meantime however, I have to try and find an Orphanage within a reasonable proximity to here - and Wuxi seems to be it. |

THANKS Spiderman too
You have cheered me up. Being Sunday, I was down in the dumps but now I will contact some of the people who have adopted from Wuxi and see what they have to say.
Being in the same Province, and the site looking exactly the same as the Zhangjiagang Orphanage site, I know it is also Government run, and probably has the same POLICY about Foreign visitors, however nothing ventured, nothing gained so I will give it my best shot.
Thanks once again, you are much better than a Google search - I think you well and truly know your way around the Internet. Next time I will come straight to you! |
