Go to immigration and get one on the spot (after you have your gaijin card, of course)
You buy either a single entry or multiple entry.
Took me about 30 minutes after I arrived at the building. |

It does take some time depending where you are. Some places it can be very quick and others it may take a couple hours depending on how crowded the office is. I would get the multiple re-entry permit at 6,000 Yen. That way you can travel often in and out of Japan if you choose. |

Gaijin card took me 1 month to get it. If you go to the immigration office right before it opens, then you can get your re-entry visa within 30min. But of course, you'll need your gaijin card to get the re-entry visa...You can go to your city hall (or where ever you get your gaijin card from) & tell them your situation, they might be able to do something about it. |

If you go to the imigration office in person you should be able to get one there and then. I got one from Fukuoka imigration office, in total it took me about 20 minutes. As long as you have your passport with a valid visa inside you should have no problems.
Good luck |
