Take them to a qualified taxidermist. Once processed they will be ever so easy to transport and maintenance is a snap.

What is it with people and their stupid pets?

Please don't put the cats through a relocation like that (and probably another one in a year's time). They deserve better.

do a search... it's been discussed before. My wife and I brought the dog along and we really wish we had not because it is really hard to travel with it. If we were to do it again, we'd leave it home without a blink.... really.

With cats, it's a little easier as you can leave for two days and give'em enoug food, water and a clean litter box without worries. A dog is a different ballgame.
good luck.

Since no one else will answer you, I will. The following website will give you the information you need: www.outpostbeijing.com
As you can see, you have a problem. To bring in a cat or dog you need to have your residence permit, which you won't get until you are here. That entitles you to bring in only one animal. What you would have to do is find two people already here, with residence permits, who are willing to help you.
I didn't take a job in China until after my cat had died because I would not risk it. Both Thailand and Indonesia are very cat friendly. Korea is also possible. Many Koreans don't like cats so the problem is your lodging, but entry and exit is not a problem.
I fail to comprehend why people on this forum feel compelled to reply to serious posts when they have no useful contribution. Anyone who is unable to understand the bond between a person and his pets lacks the necessary empathy required to be an adequate teacher.

Depending on the part of China you are going to they should fetch a tidy sum! They like a nice Kitten Tikka Masala on the Mainland (minus the tikka and masala elements, that is).

Of course. People who allow cats to stroll across the dinner table while dinner is in progress have a superior understanding of pedagogy. Dog owners who let Fido leave steaming piles of poop on the footpath sure know how to teach the 3rd conditional better than non-dog owners.

Uh huh...

Since I have yet to see any job adverts that request pet owners only, I will have to take the idea of pet owners being better qualified with all teh due gravitas that it deserves.
