Hi
My boyfriend and I have been applying for teaching positions in Japan for two months. Each time we near the point of signing on the dotted line, an unexpected obstacle jumps out of nowhere and stuffs everything.
WE HAVE TO FIND A JOB IN JAPAN THAT STARTS IN NOVEMBER 2004.
Does anyone have any good contacts? We are not fussy about where in Japan we are situated.

What are the obstacles?
Do you want to work for the same company? Live in the same apartment?
What do you bring to the bargaining table? |

I've been applying for jobs in japan since august, and no luck yet. I find that my biggest drawback is that i dont have a 4 year degree (2 year diploma, esl diploma, 6 years professional experience inthe work force, and 4 years of teaching experience though, lol). I am finding the same problem as you. I've been sent contracts, we agree on start dates, and then i ask the dreaded question....'can i get contact names of other teachers working for your school for references?'....then i dont hear back from the school, lol. So, i figure they have something to hide. But i'm still being optimistic! I've also had many great responses from schools that aren't looking now, but we still keep in touch.
Keep trying, something will come your way. Good luck to you both. If i get any leeds i will let you know! |
