does any one know what the deal is with emergency teachers at aeon? any forme teachers' opinions and experiences would be appreciated.

From what I recall from my AEON days, emergency teachers spent anywhere from a month to three months in any particular location as a fill-in for a teacher who quit, was fired, or disappeared. I knew a couple of the emergency teachers and most seemed to like the opportunity to go to many different places throughout Japan.

Yep, that's about the extent of it I think. Basically just filling in for sick/absent teachers for the amount of time it takes for them to get back on track, or for the school to find a permanent replacement.
I'll assume you don't currently work for AEON since you would otherwise probably already know about emergency teachers. If this is the case, I wouldn't worry too much about what they are and what they do anyway, since in 99.9% of the cases (as far as I can tell) only 'old'/'experienced' teachers that have worked at AEON for at least one year, are recruited to be emergency teachers. so, if this is something you think may be for you, you'll have to get a job as a 'normal' teacher with AEON first. You'll probably be able to find out a lot more about these positions once you're on the 'inside' Smile
