|
|
Hi,
Im in my first year of studying a combined hons in English Language and Linguistics, TESOL and Education (but I reckon Im gonna change Education to Portugese).
I would like to get a bit of hands on experience next summer, and was wondering how likely it was to find work without having finished my degree. Im after working in Europe, preferably Portugal, but would they want me?
I have heard that in some Eastern European countries you dont need an official qualification? Would Russia have me?
Also, what would be the best way of tracking work down? Ive been lurking on these boards long enough to have seen the 'pound the streets' advice, but I really dont fancy that plan without a completed qualification. Im thinking that I should email as many schools as possible and politely enquire as to whether they would be interested?
Thanks for any advice,

Hi. It's not Europe, but Taiwan, Japan, Korea, and China all do summer
camps. They will often try to get college students as instructors. The camps range from academic to actual camps. Your school will likely have some contacts. My son did camps in Korea and Taiwan before he graduated. They usually pay round trip airfare upfront and a stipend and housing while you're there. It's good 'get your feet wet' experience. |

Summer camps in Japan? Sorry, but they are little more than a week or two long, and you need a work visa to do any work at all. You can't get sponsored for a work visa for that short a time.
Ariadne,
If you have names of some specific summer camps in Japan that really do privide airfare and lodging and that don't need a visa, please let me know. |
