I have just been offered work with Saxoncourt/Shane English schools in the Tokyo area. I haven't met anyone who has worked for them yet and would love to get any info possible from anyone who has. I am trying to work out whether to accept the job offer or wait and see if I get offered a place on the JET programme. Money is not the issue; the issue is which programme is better in terms of fun to be had, the teachers themselves, location and support network.
Anyone have any advice? Ideas? Experience?

| You should ask Shane if they can put you in touch with any ex-teachers that would be willing to tell you about the working conditions etc. there. There was a bunch of negative stuff floating around the internet about them a while back, and if it is untrue, I am sure their ex-teachers will tell you so. I am on the Jet programme, and I would highly recommend it because of the extensive support network that it offerssomeone who is new to Japan. |
