Does anyone have any info regarding this city or even Nagoya? I have to make a decision by tomorrow afternoon, but at this rate I have given up on getting any assignment near somewhere interesting (yes I am spoiled)
so I am seriously leaning towards taking this one. Is Yokkaichi relatively urban? DOes it have a relatively decent nightlife? I hear that Nagoya is boring, so I am slightly scared...

Thanks in advance!

my girlfriend is in yokkaichi right now. From what she tells me it is urban, but they describe it as "rural" because there's plenty of people there. It's only about 35 minutes from Nagoya so that's not too bad. She says it's kinda boring there though. I was debating on whether to go there too, I think I would rather go to Nagoya though. Private message me and I can get you her email and/or phone number. peace

Yokkaichi makes Nagoya an exciting city, and Nagoya is boring compared to Tokyo. The only bars in Yokkaichi are Ezakaya and hostess bars. Late at night the only women I ever see are standing on street corners saying, "Massagee?"

You can take the Kintetsu Limited Express and be in Nagoya within an hour or so. The night life in Nagoya is at Shooter's in Sakae. The other places are a little more difficult to socialize.

What do you mean you completely disagree with the above poster? Where is the nightlife in Yokkaichi? I would really like to know.

Sorry, I replied to hastily. I do agree with the bit about Yokkaichi, just not the bit abt Shooters.

That place is awful, attracting the dodgier types(unless you want a cheap shag....and can fend off the Nigerians). Depending on your tastes there are numerous places in Nagoya to enjoy the nightlife.

Any recomendations? I live in Mie so I must commute on the weekends. I agree with you about Shooters. I just like to socialize! I work at an elementary school. All the kids love me because I give them so much attention. On my days off, I crave adult conversations. Shooters has been the only place where I have been able to talk to people while drinking beer. Boy do I miss Tokyo, Kyoto and Osaka!!!!
