In my experience, you are likely to find that contracts this short (3-4 months' duration) may be confined to the peak summer season when more teachers are in demand when school's out. I have worked in China for nearly three years and the summer season is not only that when short term contracts are offered to expatriates, but also it is when the workload goes up considerably.
You may find that the monthly salary is lower than that offered to those who are prepared to sign contracts of at least 6 months in duration, but you might find that your return flight is paid for by the company.
Contact any school and ask whether this is the case for their summer seasons. Of course, summer is a long way away right now, so I would think that, for now, your best bet is a 6-month contract if you are not looking to commit yourself at this stage to any contract that lasts longer.
Good luck. |
