Hi
I have been a volunteer teacher at a private language school in Canada for the past three months and want to go to China in September. I was wondering if it would be better to stay at this school or change schools to get use to a bigger class size? The school I volunteer at has ten students at the moment but the amount of students can vary month to month. Also would it look better on my resume if I stayed at this school until August?

Thank-you

Are you qualified? Do you have a first degree?

If you answered 'yes' to both questions then finding a job in China, even with limited classroom experience, will be fairly easy. Class sizes in China are generally much bigger than your present one (I doubt you would find anything comparable to practise on in the West). Experience with large groups may be beneficial but it is not essential. Generally speaking, employers (or scum of the Earth, depending upon your outlook) like to see that you're willing to commit to a post. Therefore, either stay put (if you're happy) or change soon and stick with your new job for the duration stated. Good luck.
