Hey Yall!

I came across an ad for BB HOUSE in Tokyo. They have a ton of places, but I was really eyeing the Yotsugi and Minowa locations. Right now I pay 67000 a month, and since I am in a crunch for money, the all-inclusive 18000/mo for a room in Yotsugi, or 21000/mo for in Minowa seemed pretty darn good. Now I know these places are full ghetto-chic, and the rooms are REALLY small, but I can put up with that, so long as I have a lock for my room.

What I want to know is if anyone has had experiences with these places, or knows anything about them or the neighbourhoods. I'd really appreciate whatever info you can send my way.

I'm not familiar with BB HOUSE although I did have a look at their web site... The accomodation certainly is basic but for that price I'm sure you could put up with it.

I am familiar with the area.... Not a great area but again for that price I'm sure you could put up with it.

The only concern would be the convenience factor. Where do you work? Unless you work around the Ueno area, Minowa and Yotsugi are not very conveniently located. You could end up spending a lot of time on trains. Bear in mind, if you live on a Toei subway line station (Asakusa line, Yotsugi station), you'll be doing a lot of walking! The stations are usually very deep and the distances between connecting lines are great!

Thanks for the reply. For myself, the distance isn't too bad. Turns out the place is closer to Ohanajaya on the Keisei line, which is only a quick trip to Nippori. I work in Oji, and the total travel time is actually a couple minutes quicker form me, though with an extra connection I didn't have before... but that's not too bad!

Also...turns out it might be easier for me to squeak in that Nova OT down there, which I have more trouble with up here.

My only concern is that I might head on home, only to find my room that little bit roomier.
