I bet most of the thugs like TS and Wombat have someone scratrching their backs, egging htem on. It's almost like a little game here, arguing with these two. Makes me wonder how and where they landed so softly.

IT's like the chubby Sough African girl told to takd 10 classes of CHines a week because her degree was non-execptable. ANd it was like this tough nosed, boxer looking South African and Canadian, who sucked up to my last manager's sense of deception by barking at me and playing CHinese, all because they were illegal ande I protested they give me an ARC.

It was an elementary school, mind you, but I was made to look like the bad guy. The manager with big *beep* shook them in my face expecting me to react differently. I flat out told her she was a liar, and then she stole NT12,000 from my paycheck. THen tough nose meets me on the subway and says "BUt what are you going to do about a job!" I think to myself What are you going to do without an ally like Carter and America!

I think now that Carter made the right decision. I don't think all of his decisions were based on economic reasons. Maybe someone here will prove this wrong. He saw the corruption, and now the Taiwanese are on their own. Even Jordon and Elton John knew about Taiwan. CHina has a sense of corrupt justice in regard to business matters and captialistic greed. Democracy in Taiwan means nothing for the average guy., unless you can pay them bribes.

I won't bother to respond to the personal attacks of an unemployed illegal immigrant with nothing better to do than spend his time at net cafes. However, re: how I landed softly. I didn't land softly. I had trouble from the start with a dishonest (surprise) recruiter. It's what I did after that decided whether I would sink or swim. I ditched the recruiter, pounded the pavement and found a job at a place recommended by other foreign teachers. Then, despite my five years teaching in another country (like you have, as I recall), I learned from experienced Taiwan teachers how to be successful here. Ok Mr. brick wall? I'll repeat it in case it might penetrate the bricks and mortar: You're attitude is causing your problems. It isn't the Chinese, the Koreans, Wombat or myself (though we're all a little sick of you by now). It's you. It's not the world that has a problem. It's you.

Why respond at all? He craves the attention and you perpetuate it. Rise above it.

Yes, I could choose to simply ignore him. You're also correct about him craving attention. Why respond then? Well, some of it is about setting records straight. Our friend makes a lot of claims about Taiwan and Chinese. Leaving them unchallenged could create the impression that these views are correct. This site, I have found, is a resource for mostly prospective teachers (though a few of us regulars are residents). Newbies may take what some loose cannons say as truth about Taiwan. Challenging viewpoints at least gives another point of view for record's sake. Also, our friend is going to hog this board whether or not anyone challenges him. His "poetry" is a good example of that. Finally, I come here to post, read and enjoy. I don't like to deliberately avoid anyone on a forum. Give him time; he'll leave. i've seen others like him before here. He'll hang around, annoy people and abuse the rules. He'll either eventually get banned or move on. My guess is he's not going to be here much longer. It seems he is now an illegal in Taiwan. That will get him booted. Once a short-termer leaves Taiwan, he finds this forum has nothing for him anymore.

I don't get your drift, TS. I'm not employed, I'm just rolling here, chewing the fat.

Remember, the theme was about Carter. What interesting news do you have to offer us capitalists? Could this anti-captialism be a kind of communist intrustion, of sorts, making the Taiwanese rather sympathetic to their Mother Country's cause, and thus making us an object to their scorn?

My attitude is fine. I can get a job today. I just feel that it's rather their attitude, and some others' attitudes here, that make me feel embittered I must cater to their whims of We, The Few, The MIghty, The Proud.

Try this motto when teaching English. It may work. Or it may make you feel like the antagonist in 'The Postman.'

TO say I want attention is like asking why this board exists at all, AND WHY TS AND WOMBAT SEEM TO TAKE ALL THE LIMELIGHT THEMSELVES, PERPETUATING THEIR MYTHS?! My attention is merely a means of discussing this rather attention seeking group mentality and swaying it in the right direction.

Not like I care. It matters most to those who come here. But it seems TS and some of the others want all the attention and to make this board their clique. But their arguments seem at best biasedd and at worst, a lie.

Atiitude is all I hear, not to mention the fact we're treated with a terrible attitude. MOst are used and abused, either mentally or verbally. Try examining some of your comments and see if they don't fit. I found the lying aspect of it all, like you've got nothing to lose so be glad, or you'd better obey us, to be the running attitude most of these jobs try to convey to you as a teacher.

At times my attitude gets rather peeked, how about yours?

Attention seeking? Lymelight? Perpetuating myths? That's you, dude. It's not me or anyone else on this board.

Look at how many posts you have in such a short period of time. The first page of this board is now cluttered with your user name and the intellectual vomit you post here.

As far as "TS, Wombat and a few others..." Everyone here has voiced their opposition to your board hogging nonsense. Are you being ironic?

THese are all just refutations here, to refute the other board hogs. I find a hog someone who only presents one opinion and debunks eveyone elses, and this in a critical way.

I accept some of your opinions, but not when it comes to the jobs here. IT seems you have a lot of evidence to the contrary and still haven't proved your point. It makes me feel like waking up to this typhoon and still feeling the aftereffects.

No, most of them are your empty rants against something which is largely incomprehensible to others. I mean, there was one about toilet paper, for goodness' sake.

I find a board hog to be someone who spams the board with his own opinions and observations, without actually involving themselves in reasonable dialogue.
