hey everyone...
dang it has been a looong time since Ive posted.... Basically Im doing the usual, language school crazy roomates random Turkish men trying to follow me home... all in all reasons to drink a lot of beer in Taksim on a free night off....
But anyway,
A friend of mine is trying to start up a magazine for Istanbul.. the anti Tıme Out for those of you who cannot afford to go to restaurants that cost 60USD a plate and bring some information of what to do for those of us not on a business of diplomatıc budget. In addition there will be a classified section for furniture, rentals... falon falon....
We are looking for people to help write articles... Funny, edgy, quirky is the order of the day...

Haven't been here long enough to be able to contribute (or work a Turkish keyboard properly) but I look forward to reading it. Please let us know when it comes out. Not that I ever have time to see or do anything, mınd you...but I can dream. And anything has to be more useful than Time Out.

By the way...does everyone know you can snag a free TimeOut in the Marmara Hotel at Taksim? Every first of the month they put them out on the reception desk just inside the security gate.
As you say it is fairly useless...so get it for free! |
