I was introduced to this quirky sci-fi spoof whilst living in Italy. My English neighbours were huge fans and now, so am I.
Anyone else? |

Hello there
Yes, I know it, and very much enjoyed it. I watched it some years ago in England. It was very 'unusual' but also very entertaining |

Lexx is really imaginative and sometimes grand, sometimes cute in a John Waters kind of way. The first couple of times I watched it I thought Huh? But after a few days I kept coming back to it, and over time really began to appreciate the quality of the stories. Lexx breaks the rules of science fiction and gives you something no one has done before, which is what science fiction was supposed to do all along, before the Blasters and Bulletheads took over. Lexx introduces sexuality, gore, creepy horror, camp, fantasy, and when it does these things it does it in a way no one has done before and with a complete disregard for proven formulas.
A ship that eats planets to survive, that's fun! And one of the protagonists is dead and he's the coolest customer on the series! I'd love to see it here in China... |

Hi Atlas,
Gotta admit, when I first saw 'your' picture, my initial thought was 'hey, that guy looks just like Kai!', so you can take credit for inadvertently starting this thread! |

Replace the ship with a beehive hairdo and you're right!
Kai, I mean, what other man can wear a beehive and still be so freaking sinister? |

maybe there are different versions of lexx going around. the one here in the US is only played on the scifi channel. it's got a small cult following but it's not that popular. a lot of british or european shows tend to get a make over when they come to the US.
i am fan of zev's angelina jolie-type lips, though. |

Lexx was a Canadian-German co-production, shot in Atlantic Canada and also in Africa at one point. The show's first "season" was as a series of TV movies on Tornto's CityTv. There were three more seasons-worth of conventional episodes before they decided to pull the plug. Not sure wha the status of the show is now. I haven't seen it in a while. Myself I always thought it was silly although as someone who is a dual German-Canadian citizen, I've always gotten a kick out of the mixed accents. |
