Hey all,

This is my first post here! I thought I should say hello.

I have a question regarding ADSL/Cable/Wireless availability in Japan, particularly Kashiwa city in the Chiba prefecture. Is it available there, in apartments?

If not, how can I go about getting a connection there without using an internet cafe?

In that area, you can expect at a minimum to be able to get an 8mb (rated speed) internet connection. This is no more inconvenient to set up than anything else in Japan. Which is to say quite inconvenient.

Rent a phone line from NTT for a house phone. Get it activated. Sign up for internet.
