hey there, can someone help with this one? a tchr and i wrote a full blown curriculum for the school. What are our rights for our efforts? All we expected was recognition for it that is, our names would appear on the books when they are published. Can anyone advise me of our authors rights and perhaps even as far as ownership / copyright and the ability to use this in our home countries. Thanks. |

Some thoughts. How does your contract read? Does it include a provision that you write such curriculums, books, etc., for your school? Does it include a provision that all such writings become the property of the school? Were you assigned this project as part of your normal teaching duties? You might want to consult an attorney in your home country as to copyright and publication legalities were your school to publish and copyright it first, or even if it doesn't?
Good luck. |
