Hellooooo!  can anyone tell me what the approximate rent for an apartment in Tao Yaun is? I hear dyou can get some pretty decent places for a job price. I'm not looking for anything extravagant, just a clean place. Thank you! |

The prices here seem to vary so much. I am living in Nankan (near Taoyuan) and I guess prices are pretty similar. But a 1 bedroom (studio) apartment in my building can cost between 10k-28k (!) with no real differences.
We are paying 10k for an unfurnished 2 bedroom apartment in a new (2 year old) building. It's bigger than a lot of my friends 3/4 bedroom apartments in Taipei. I suspect you could find cheaper though. |

| Yes 10k per month would be about average for a decent place in the Taoyuan area. I'm currently paying 8k for mine, but it's quite a deal. Pitty I might have to move soon. Cheap rents are the primary advantage to living somewhere like Taoyuan. In Taipei city, my place would likely cost twice or three times as much (possibly more), depending on the desirability of the area. |
